Why your KIDS MUST DO PHYSICAL EXERCISE
Nowadays most people are into exercises. It's a great thing considering the huge burden of non communicable diseases we can prevent by a simple life style change. I see people jogging on the lanes, getting busy with gym memberships and sports clubs. But what about their kids? I wonder if they share the same enthusiasm like their parents in breaking some sweat.
Here is the biggest reason why it's so important that your kids do some physical activity.
People have the highest rate of increasing their bone mass during their adolescent. The more you exercise during your childhood and adolescent as well as during twenties, the higher your peak bone mass will be. In simple words, higher the peak bone mass, greater the bone strength.
What happens to the bone density after your reach your thirties?
Your bone mass reduces with time. So your bones get weaker. But with exercises and healthy foods we can slow down this reduction.
Why do we need a good bone density?
When people grow old, they are more susceptible for fractures. Especially women after reaching menopause have higher risk of osteoporosis, a disease in which the entire bone mass is reduced drastically causing multiple fractures.
Fractures take longer time to heal in older people. They make you confined to your bed for a long time which in turn can give rise to many other medical complications.
So tell your young kids why they should exercise and encourage them to engage in sports at school. Sports has lot of rewards, not only strengthening your bones for your future.
